This is the short version of what to do for benzodiazepine withdrawal.
On this page you will find steps to do if:
If you are in benzodiazepine withdrawal now
If you are taking a benzodiazepine, have not started reducing it but you have
side effects
If you are already off the benzodiazepine and still experiencing withdrawal
Most of you coming to The Road Back website are already in withdrawal from the
benzodiazepine to some degree. Reading a full book and finding your way through
this website is likely the last thing you wish to do at this point. This page is short
and to the point.
If you are in benzodiazepine withdrawal now:
Go to Neuro Genetic Solutions and get Package B. This gives you 3 supplements.
JNK Formula Complete, Neuro Day, and Neuro Night. Each bottle gives you a 30
day supply. You can follow the instructions on the bottle label for when to take and
how much to take.
A new supplement not found in How to Get Off Psychoactive Drugs Safely is
called Harper Drops Supreme. This is a THC FREE CBD oil that is high strength
at 25mg per serving. If you have looked at CBD oil before but the price scared you
away, you will not run from this one. The Road Back subsidizes the price on Neuro
Genetic Solutions and a 30 day supply is only around $25. We strongly urge you to
get a bottle, especially if you have anxiety and insomnia.
Cutting through the benzodiazepine withdrawal is difficult and this CBD oil does
the job. If your budget allows, it is best to get 3 bottles with how you should take it
the first 30 days or until the anxiety and insomnia is under control.
You should take 1 dropper full of the CBD oil first thing in the morning, at noon
and another dropper full right at bedtime.
Once the anxiety and insomnia is under control you can cut the CBD oil back. We
suggest you take 1 dropper full at bedtime throughout this process and for 45-days
after the last pill of the drug is taken.
If you have a little anxiety start in the day time, try taking a 1/2 dropper full. Try
another 1/2 dropper full any time during the day if you start to feel stressed.
With the medication: Get with your doctor and discuss going back up to the last
dosage you were doing well at. I know this can seem like you are losing ground on
the withdrawal but ultimately this will save you a lot of time. Get stable again and
when your supplements arrive you should feel the difference very quickly.
Once you start the supplements, do not reduce the benzodiazepine again for at least
2 weeks. If at all possible, only reduce the medication by 5 percent. Only reduce by
5% every 2 weeks as long as you are doing very well.
You can compound most medications to achieve a 5% reduction. Talk with your
pharmacy.
If you are taking a benzodiazepine, have not started reducing it but you have
side effects
Do not reduce your medication. Stay where you are at. Get Package B from Neuro
Genetic Solutions and take them as described on the bottle. Get to a point where
you are feeling much better and then decide if you wish to withdrawal from the
benzodiazepine.
If you are going to withdrawal from the benzodiazepine, taper it by reducing by
5% every other week.
If you are already off the benzodiazepine and experiencing withdrawal still.
Package B from Neuro Genetic Solutions is your answer as well. Relief can come
quickly. Add a bottle of Harper Drops Supreme as well.
Protracted withdrawal is real and it can be reversed. If you are now sensitive to
most every nutritional supplement, start with only the Harper Drops Supreme. This
is a THC FREE CBD oil at 25mg of CBD oil per serving. Try taking a 1/2 dropper
in the morning to begin. Another 1/2 dropper full at noon and another 1/2 dropper
full at bedtime.
Send an e-mail to Jim Harper and he can guide you through this as well.
