Starting The Supplements

Starting the Supplements

Never take the supplements within 1 hour of the medication. If you take a medication at 8am, take the Maca at 7am or 9am.

We break down starting the supplements into phases.

Phase One

If you are already in withdrawal, you should go back up to the last dosage of the medication you were feeling stable at, as you also start phase 1.

If you have not started to reduce the medication yet, you will also begin on phase 1.

Take 1 capsule of Maca Supreme around 8am in the morning. Take with a little food.

Four days later, take 1 Neuro Day capsule four hours after you take the Maca Supreme.

Four days later, take 1 JNK Formula capsule at the same time as the morning Maca Supreme.

If you are tapering or in withdrawal from an antidepressant, now is the time to start the Omega 3 Supreme. If you do not have head symptoms, take 1 soft gel. If you have been tapering, you may need 2 soft gels to get rid of the head symptoms.

Head symptoms tend to start around the same time every day. Take the Omega 3 Supreme about 1 hour before they generally begin.

This is the time you will need to use the graphs you have been keeping.

What we are seeking is major positive changes are beginning to happen. Have your numbers dropped to no higher than 5 on all the graphs?

If you are still having difficulty with sleeping, this is the time to add 1 capsule of Neuro Night. Take it 30 minutes before bedtime.

A high percentage of you will experience positive changes during phase 1. Give it time.

What to look for – If positive changes are happening do not move to Phase 2. Continue with Phase 1 and allow your body to keep adjusting.

If you have not experienced positive change at all, move to Phase 2.

Phase 2

Continue the supplements as you have during Phase 1.

Add another Maca Supreme four hours after you have taken the morning Maca Supreme.

Add 1 Neuro Day capsule with the morning Maca Supreme.

Add another JNK Formula with the late day Neuro Day.

Make sure to take supplements with a little food.

The goal during Phase 1 and Phase 2 is to get positive changes with as few supplements as possible.

When you start reducing the medication you may need to increase the supplements but if you are already at the maximum per day, we do not have anything else to work with.

Phase 3

Phase 3 is increasing the Maca Supreme. Only use Phase 3 if you have not felt positive changes.

Start by adding 1 additional Maca Supreme capsule at 8am. If there are still no positive changes, you can add a second Maca Supreme with the noon time Maca Supreme.

The maximum of each supplement you can take are:

4 Maca Supreme per day. No more than 2 capsules at a time and at least 4 hours apart.

JNK Formula is 2 capsules per day each capsule 4 hours apart.

Neuro Day is 2 capsules a day spaced apart by 4 hours.

Neuro Night is 2 capsules 30 minutes before bedtime.

Ideally, you will not need to use Phase 3.

Adjusting the Supplements

I can’t stress enough to take notes along the way and for you to use the graphs.

When you start reducing the medication it will be very important.

Let’s say you had elevated agitation before you started Phase 1 and during Phase 1 the agitation never returned after you started taking the Neuro Day. During your taper, if you begin to feel some agitation again, that would be the time to add a second Neuro Day.

Just take it 4 hours apart from the other one you are taking.

The same holds true for the Maca Supreme and the JNK Formula. Odds are high, if they help give you relief from certain symptoms during Phase 1, they will also help you when you are tapering.

Other things to take note of – Sometimes we may need to go to the dentist or other health conditions need to be treated. If you feel a negative change, welcome to life! We all will usually have our balance thrown off by these.

This also includes a rough day at work, a problem with the kids or any other life event. These are normal and have nothing to do with medication, tapering or supplements. If you ever need any assistance, send me an e-mail to Jim@theroadback.org and I am happy to assist.
